oh that's fascinating. hadn't seen that. did a bit of poking around and it wasn't super clear to me...where do they source their data such that they're able to distribute it for free? |

Just seen this on Discord - sorry about that @McPizza0 ! @Shpigford @alavry, we don't distribute data for free. We are a wrapper around dozens of different data vendors. You read our documentation and can access data equity, forex, economy, crypto, fixed income, ... for different data vendors. However, as I mentioned, this is not our data. So you need to insert your API keys for these data vendors on OpenBB Hub. Most of our users tend to leverage free plans from data vendors, and when there's a plan that they see value the vendor is able to upsell our users and they basically pay a monthly fee for a premium API key that now allows access to more datasets, more requests per minute or more time length in the past. So, basically , the data rights come from you as a user signing up for a data vendor and getting their API key. When that happens you are agreeing with their ToS which OpenBB isn't liable. Hope this makes sense! |

OpenBB has a great api under their platform product: https://openbb.co/products/platform
could be a suitable replacement for polygon.io
since openbb can be self-hosted, it would enable complete isolated/standalone
maybe
