In my case I was looking for quotes in German and Hindi (an Indian language), for a typing practice project I was making. |

It would be great to provide content in multiple languages. We could use a translation API, like Google Cloud Translate to translate the database into multiple languages. I looked into it, and it would it not be hard to do. But it will probably produce rough translations at best. If you would like to try this, I can translate a batch of quotes into German and Hindi. Would you be willing to review them and see if the translations are decent? |

Here is a sample of 30 random quotes, translated into French (FR), German (DE), Spanish (ES), and Hindi (HI) using the Google Cloud Translate API. If anyone is able to provide feedback on the quality on the translations, that would be appreciated. I am guessing the translations are not very good, but I figured it was worth a try. [

Out of these languages I can give my opinion on Hindi translations. I don't know if by above message you meant that people can use a translate api to take the quote from English and change it to language of their choice. But it would be so much more easier to just translate them one time and store them in the orignal database you api is fetching from. |

Hello hope I can help out with some fixes to the spanish translation. This were the ones that immediately stood out to me, all the other ones seemed good, or at least good enough. 1: "Seguir, sin tregua, un objetivo: Ahí está el secreto del éxito." -> "Seguir, sin parar, un objetivo: Ahí está el secreto del éxito." 20: "El talento es dado por Dios; se humilde. La fama es dada por el hombre; estar agradecido. El engreimiento se da a sí mismo; ten cuidado." -> "El talento es dado por Dios; se humilde. La fama es dada por el hombre; se agradecido. El engreimiento se da a sí mismo; ten cuidado." 24: "Toda amistad pasa por altibajos. Se establecen patrones disfuncionales; las situaciones externas provocan fricciones internas; te separas y luego te recuperas." -> "Toda amistad pasa por altibajos. Hey instead of manually translating them what if we use the Google Translate API or other to translate the desired language from the user before sending the response? |
I don't think that this is a good idea, because it will be literal translation. Languages like Arabic for example can't be translated with google translate at all. |

It would be helpful if other then English you can get quotes in other languages based on request.
