This client isn't compatible with the media and the server isn't sending a compatible media format. #3410

I have converted this to a discussion because at this point everyone commenting seems to be having different issues and the original author has not responded to feedback to their specific issue.

Typically this error message is displayed for one of the following reasons:

  1. Transcoding has been disabled on the server.
  2. The media files are inaccessible or unreadable by the jellyfin user.
    • Verify the media is mounted correctly to the filesystem.
    • Verify the permissions are such that the jellyfin user has a minimum of read+execute permissions on all directories and read permissions on all media files.
  3. Hardware acceleration has been enabled, but not properly configured.
