Issue Tracking Info

  • I understand that work is tracked outside of GitHub. A PR will be linked to this issue should one be opened to address it, but Bitwarden doesn't use fields like "assigned", "milestone", or "project" to track progress.

Hello @eng3,

Thank you for your report. I was able to reproduce this behaviour and have flagged it to the Engineering department.
Please feel free to post additional information, such as screenshots or a screen video recordings, if you wish.

As a side note, this could be related to this prior GitHub report.

Thank you again,

As for the related report, the message I get looks the same (but in english).
However the prior report just was reporting the error and did not specify that bitwarden needed to be running. I think this is why it was unable to be reproduced and thus closed.

Note, I have the choco upgrade scheduled nightly to upgrade everything unattended so that I can conveniently remain up-to-date and hopefully more secure. So hopefully there is a way the choco script can send a signal to shutdown (or kill the process) in order to process the upgrade. Otherwise, it is no better than the built in upgrade. Though the built in upgrade popup doesnt seem to show up unless I go into bitwarden or reboot so I may go many days without seeing it whereas a nightly upgrade would reduce the vulnerable time.
