When a new imessage is received when I'm using AirMessage web on Linux (in chrome) I do hear a "ding", but it would be nice if there was also a desktop popup notification in case my volume is down, or headphones are off or something. A visual notification would be great.

Thanks for creating these issues!

AirMessage for web will create a desktop notification if the tab is currently in the background. Is it possible you're keeping the tab open in the foreground?

Oh. I probably did have the tab in the foreground but in a separate chrome instance on some other virtual desktop.

... testing w/ tab in background...

Shoot, I'm not able to get it to send notifications.

I'm on debian 11, gnome 40.4, and Chrome Version 94.0.4606.81 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Is there anyway that we can get Windows 10 notifications even when the Airmessage web client is in the foreground?
