I Dumped the Sound Data for Photo Dojo on DSi, and I REALLY wanted to try to export the songs to midi, but it doesn't give me the option... and by that I mean the option TO export to midi is locked... I have no idea why. maybe there's something I don't know, but I really wish this was possible. :\

Currently there's no export to MIDI for sdat. sdat's songs (SSEQ) are also a weird format that cannot convert perfectly to a MIDI without special tools to handle them. So even if midi exporting were a thing, it'd only work well for very plain and standard music. So that's why I didn't get around to doing it yet.

VGMTrans can export the .sseq files as MIDI.

To add to @pianistrevor's comment, VGMTrans will only work for those standard songs. Ones that use weird jumping and loop points, or other sdat features like variables etc, will not be kept in the MIDI. So some songs will break or be incorrect regardless because MIDI lacks a lot of those features. VGMTrans also will not keep the data matching when it exports, meaning it can strip out any events it feels like, or may put them in some CC's that aren't correct, etc. But you can try it for your super standard music in that SDAT, and you should have a decent experience. It is the most up-to-date SSEQ to MIDI converter I'm aware of; most other ones are 10 years old at this point and have the same limitations

I'm having this exact issue! I managed to export Photo Dojo's OST into MIDI files using VGMTrans, but songs such as Rock and Roll only contain the loop portion of the song (the starting part isn't included in the MIDI).

I can't really add any other useful information so this is basically a bump, but I would also really appreciate a MIDI export tool too!
