Issue: Recent models are not saved after quitting

What are you trying to do, and what do you expect to happen?

Open blockbench to finish the model I made. I expect it to load my recent project.

What happens instead?

After opening, the recent model did not appear as expected. It did not save as it used to. Now, I have to start from scratch and recreate the model.

Even on the app, after quitting and going back in, the model I made earlier was gone and did not show up in the recent models

Blockbench never automatically saved models. So save, you need to press Ctrl + S.
Again, you might be thinking of automatic backups.
