Probably we need a roadmap to reach version 1.0 (like cro project has).

I think for some people the "WIP" tag may make them think that there is going to be a lot of self assembly required so they may pass it by, and there won't be a crucial bug report or feature request. I think "Alpha release" might be better as it gives the impression of "working but there may be some rough edges" and encourages a different level of participation.

And yeah a realistic set of criteria by which it would move to "Beta" and "Full release" (bearing in mind that a lot of outstanding feature requests might be "nice to have" or even quite specific to one persons needs rather than firm requirements for general use.)

Ok, that makes sense! So, what do you guys think are the basic features we should have for our first beta release?

I've created that Beta release project with 25 issues. I think when those issues become closed, we can remove the WiP from the description.
