Does this still happen on later versions? If so, some files that TWLMenu++ is trying to display are probably corrupted.

Okay, i found what caused my issue...

in /_nds/TWiLightMenu/settings.ini
i had to set SHOW_BOX_ART to 0

now everything seems to work fine again

Having the same error on my R4i Gold Plus card when using any version higher than 26.9 and changing show_box_art to 0 doesn't fix it. Using the flashcard version.

I have the same issue using a R4i 3DS RTS (r4ids.cn) using any version higher than 26.9.0
I found out through testing that the issue lies somewhere within /_nds/TWiLightMenu/dsimenu.srldr
The neweset version (27.2.0) works when using any theme other than "Nintendo DSi", "Nintendo 3DS", "SEGA Saturn", "Homebrew Launcher" or using /_nds/TWiLightMenu/dsimenu.srldr from 26.9.0

That'll be fixed in the next version.
